The Association of Management Committees of Protected Areas of the Chaco-Chiquitania-Pantanal-Amazon (ACGAPCHCHPA) It was founded in November 2013 as a collective response to strengthen the management and protection of protected areas. ACGAP brings together management committees, local communities and key stakeholders with the purpose of ensuring sustainability and active participation in the planning and conservation of Bolivia's natural and cultural heritage.
Organizational Structure
He Association Directory, The governing body, comprised of positions such as President, Vice President, Secretary, and several members, has been a crucial pillar for coordination and representation. Over the years, the Association has promoted the formal establishment of both existing and new management committees and has fostered training activities and specific meetings with the established committees.
In 2024, through the 7th major workshop and the election of the Association's new Board of Directors, the process of reorganizing and updating committee data culminated in a detailed mapping of protected area governance, identifying its legal framework, current status, new allied stakeholders, and governance needs. This effort aims to strengthen the Association's institutional structure, facilitating collaboration among protected areas and stakeholders.

To be a leading platform in environmental and social governance in the Chaco, Chiquitania, Pantanal and Amazonia, integrating Management Committees, local communities, government authorities and key actors for the protection and sustainable management of protected areas, consolidating a supportive and articulated network that promotes the conservation of natural and cultural heritage for present and future generations.
